Shakespeare Bibliography 1980-2000

In reference to the work by Wiktor Hahn Shakespeare in Poland. A Bibliography, published in 1956, the project entitled “Polish Shakespeare Bibliography 1980-2000” was realized under the supervision of prof. Krystyna Kujawińska Courtney. In 2007 the book Polska Bibliografia Szekspirowska 1980-2000 [Polish Shakespeare Bibliography 1980-2000] was printed by Ossolineum, Wrocław, and financed by Komitet Badań Naukowych (the Committee for Scientific Research). The aim of the project was to produce a book edition of a bibliography representing Shakespeare’s presence in Polish culture in the years 1980-2000.

The bibliography included 1517 records divided into monographs, edited collections, articles in academic periodicals and the everyday press and theatre performances. Reviews of monographs, collections and theatre performances were also included. For each record a short description was prepared. Additionally, in cooperation with The Folger Shakespeare Library, USA, the Department regularly (since 1983) prepares the Polish Shakespeare Bibliography, published in Shakespeare Quarterly as a Polish contribution to The World Shakespeare Bibliography.

The book (in Polish) is available here.
